The first time I heard David's voice was, I think, the 1987 version of Here I Go Again. However, it was when I discovered his earlier stuff that I became a great fan of his blues sound! I still prefer Here I Go Again and Cryin' in the Rain from the Saints and Sinners album.
The first time I heard David's voice live was on June 16, 1990 at the Montreal Forum (Slip of the Tongue Tour).

The first time I heard David's voice was on a Deep Purple bootleg called Live In London. It was that live recording that finally converted me to Deep Purple. At the time I did not know about the various line-up changes in the band and could not understand why there were two different vocalists on the songs. I also loved the guitar and organ interplay throughout the concert.

Was on Burn - which my Dad and Mum loved, bought and played constantly ( I was about 5) it still reminds me of Sunday nights playing cards with the family and my Dad teaching me to head-bang! I've been a fan of that voice ever since and my Dad and I still fight over that and the early, more bluesy Whitesnake records.

A long, long time ago...I heard "Soldier of Fortune" on the radio...A nice way to start, huh? I got impressed immediately. I didn't know too much about rock. I didn't even know that Deep Purple had a new vocalist! Me and my friends only had a few tapes and LPs, one of them was "Stormbringer", we used to listen to it most of the time...
