Don't worry about the sad face. Actually, you didn't put the wrong smiley... if you type 3 questions marks in a row you automatically get the "sad smiley". It's annoying.
Anyway, you can always preview your message before you post. Not only that, you can modify after your post too. Just look at the top right of your own message.
