I know ... this shift in meaning / social acceptability happens in all our languages.

It reminds me of a story I read in some Engl. newspapers some time ago rel. to these shifts in English related also to social class / language ... and the author concluded by a debate between small boy and his mother which went close to :

Boy: "I do not want these fucking knickers.."

Mother: "Don't you say fucking knickers any more "

Boy: "I do not want those fucking trousers ! "
