Dear Friends... :)not been here for a long time.sorry.When I started this MAD project of a BBS-Meeting in the KING`s 8-)old backyard..I had no idea, what I would start. ::)I had originally asumed, that the 2004 tour would be earlier in the year. Now we are looking at Spt/Oct.Those of you...You know who i mean..lol..that know the North of the UK,will agree with me, that this may not be the best time to go there. ;DSimply..cold, wet.. :oOf course we could just meet in a Pub..but, that was not the idea.i wanted that meeting to be -if poss- an open-air-do, :-[with lots of WHITESNAKE MUSIC..and eventually even a band.Now..As I have to restrict myself this year, due to personal reasons to 4 shows, :(I will not be anywhere near Saltburn this time. If you all still want to meet up there, you have my blessings..lol.. ;DI`m certainly there in spirit...but I would have to place it into some other capable hands.Otherwise..there is 2005...Please let us know what you think...As JANA ;)started the links for the travelling, maybe she could also come up with more specific info... :-*Love to you all..Tiara

Thanks for the post Tiara. I don't think anyone still expected you to organize this. ;D I agree about October not being the ideal time to go there. Still, I think it would be nice for some BBSers who wish to travel after the Newcastle shows to visit Saltburn. Mind you, there won't be much to do there though. We were there at peak season and it was kind of dead. We had trouble finding a restaurant that was open for lunch... at lunchtime. ;D It is still quite a drive to get there, even from Newcastle. You definitely need a car to get there because there is nothing to do in Saltburn so you are better off overnighting/eating in the neighbouring towns. I did see a hotel there and went in to get a pamphlet. It's called the Spa Hotel. The website is www.thespahotelsaltburn.co.uk Check out this site too: www.redcar-cleveland.gov.uk/Tourism There is lots of info there. If you are only going by train, then I would definitely recommend staying in Saltburn, because there is not much transportation between towns. It would be great to have others visit David's birthplace! Keep me posted!!
