Right, Robert Plant in Prague .... I was cut off of the internet for all of Saturday due to the server crash ... Now I am back ... ;D Some of you already know : during the concert I sent couple of text messages from my mobile phone ... I guess this line alone speaks for itself : to keep writing and sending text messages during a rock concert when you actually stand almost under the stage is in itself a signal that : - there was no mosh pit
- there was no moshing
- there was no headbanging
- there was no dancing
- there was no motion
- there was no fun
So what was there ? One big neverending scary boredom ... at least for myself Plant maintaines great voice, no doubt about that ... But what for if there is no or little content attached to it ... - Mighty Rearranger ... well, the lights were quite impressive
- Gallows Pole ... Nice re-make !
As for the rest .... Oh horrors of cantilena ... terrors of bar piano ... dreads of main stream rock/pop-sound ... After two introductory songs I was already scared shitless. This was the last thing I needed after my 12-14 hours/day routine I have been going through over the past couple of months at work ... So, well before the end of the gig I fought my way through the happy crowd (why all had that happy "pinned" imbecile smile on their faces I really wonder) ;D ... and had coffee outside the hall. Two coffees in fact. From there I still could follow the concert: actually I noticed that Whole Lotta Love had some interesting bits added inbetween the regular notes ;D And then went back home. I arrived late at night, "upset". On Saturday morning, on the way to my office, and then when leaving the office late in the evening, I gave repeated spin to : and I must admit, by the end of the day I felt much better and refreshed ! ;D Perhaps it is all my fault ... I should already know : My weary mind does not need cantilena or sweet music ... My tired mind needs a statement ! A very strong statement ! ;D ;D On Tuesday night I am going to see Apocalyptica ... after their latest album (Icall it a "movie music") I am already cautious ... one can never be too careful, but still I hope the boys will give the cello strings proper brush ! ;D

I'll do my very best to BEAT THE BASTARDS!!!! ;D Now where's that baseball bat!? LOL ;D I will get to those messages / notes later Paulo ! ;D .... It is 1.45 AM, I just arrived from the Apocalyptica concert in Prague These boys never fail me !!!!! FCK' Hell ... they were fantastic !!!!!!! I call their latest album "movie music" for it is more melodic stuff than usual, with proper rock band setup, singing ... so I did expect the concert to follow more or less that newly found track. But NOOOOO !!! They brushed the strings as always ... only that they play better and better if that is at all possible .... thrash, death, speed metal + their "experimental" stuff, Grieg etc ... 4 mighty over boosted cellos + drum kit. At first I did consider the drums a bit redundant or perhaps even a bit distracting ... they do not really need it ... but as the concert developed the drums became more and more integral part of the sound and by the end the drumming was as wild as the cellos and the whole sound was terrific !!! You know, when it comes to Apocalyptica I do not mind if they eventually play ballads or slow stuff ... with the four cellos the sound is so diverse that if you plunge into the individual interlacing lines / layers you get on a pretty adventurous track full of discoveries ... the layers are many and rich and you simply cannot get bored !!! The atmosphere / audience was terrific ... packed venue had the proper metal /headbanging, merry atmosphere ... the gig went for 2 hours and people wouldnt let them leave ... Btw there are 2 concerts in conseq. days and both are sold out. And by the way, the boys know how to treat their faithful audience : after "we will play for you some more sweet ballads" ... Slayer and Sepultura tunes followed !!! That I call a treat ! What a relief after RP& Strange Sensation .... Tonight I got the sound massacre I só desperately needed !!!! ;D
