KNIGHT RIDER (1982-1986) A billionaire saves shot police officer Michael Arthur Long and gives him a new identity as lone crusader Michael Knight (David Hasselhoff). Michael's partner is the Knight Industries Two Thousand (K.I.T.T), a super-fast, virtually indestructible car that can do just about anything (including talk and drive itself). Together, Michael and K.I.T.T fight criminals operating above the law. At its height, 13 million viewers tuned in to ITV to watch Knight Rider. Top 10 Fun Things About Knight Rider 1. Each week (or so it seemed), a tough-looking villain would break into K.I.T.T and scream like a girl at a Busted concert when the car started talking. 2. David Hasselhoff had an afro. 3. David Hasselhoff's stunt double looked nothing like him. The fact that viewers were clearly able to see this speaks volumes for the production values... 4. At the time, there wasn't a cooler car on telly than K.I.T.T - in reality, it was a customised 1982 Pontiac Trans-Am. 5. Every week, the show opened with the following words: "Knight Rider, a shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist. Michael Knight, a young loner on a crusade to champion the cause of the innocent, the powerless, the helpless in a world of criminals who operate above the law." 6. The closing narration to every episode was: "Michael Knight, a lone crusader in a dangerous world. The world... of the Knight Rider." 7. Like all crime crusaders, Michael Knight had an evil nemesis. In this case, the scoundrel was actually his dastardly brother Garthe (played by David Hasselhoff with a daft goatee beard). Garthe drove a big, mean truck named 'Goliath' (ha, ha!) and later on he got behind the wheel of K.I.T.T's sworn enemy K.A.R.R (Knight Automated Roving Robot - a silver version of K.I.T.T). 8. In the 1985 episode 'Knight Song', Michael has to ensure a nightclub opens safely. Appearing as themselves were 80s RnB band New Edition, including Whitney Houston's husband Bobby Brown. 9. Other famous stars to spot in Knight Rider include Blair Underwood (LA Law, Sex & The City), Jason Bateman (The Hogan Family, Arrested Development) and Oscar-winning actress Geena Davis. 10. In numerous episodes of Knight Rider, David Hasselhoff's unbuttoned shirts revealed not only a hairy chest but also, a gold medallion! We kid you not.

DALLAS (1978 - 1991) Power, wealth, sex, extravagance, murder, scandal, secrets and John Ross (J.R.) Ewing Snr (the most charismatic villain EVER to grace the small screen); one place had them all - Dallas!
Dallas premiered in 1978 and two years later, this granddaddy of primetime soaps boasted 300 million fans in nearly 60 countries. It's believed that more than half the UK population tuned in to watch the episode that revealed the answer to the most burning question over the summer of 1980 (for the entire world); who shot J.R.? MEMORABLE CAST This TV phenomenon (recently voted the second most influential American TV export ever) was perfectly cast; Patrick Duffy was goody-two-shoes Bobby Ewing with Victoria Principal as his wife Pamela Barnes.
Charlene Tilton played 'poison dwarf' (as Terry Wogan famously dubbed her) Lucy Ewing. Linda Gray was absolutely brilliant as J.R.'s long suffering wife Sue Ellen (Swellin'). Barbara Bel Geddes proved irreplaceable as Miss Ellie, Ken Kercheval was J.R.'s sworn enemy Cliff Barnes, Jim Davis played Jock Ewing before his untimely death and Steve Kanaly played half-brother Ray Krebbs. TOP J.R. EWING QUOTES Rounding out the cast was the brilliant Larry Hagman as J.R. Ewing; an unfaithful husband, ruthless, backstabbing businessman and all-round fiend. Throughout Dallas' run, J.R. had the juiciest dialogue - check out our selection of the best (or rather, worst!) of J.R.
1. "Is that a fact?" - usually laced with a heavy dose of sarcasm, this was the classic J.R. Ewing response to...just about anything really.
"I'm gonna kill you J.R.!" "Is that a fact?"
"Bobby's gonna beat you and run Ewing Oil!" "Is that a fact?"
2. "I want my wife and my son. On second thoughts, give me my son - you can keep the tramp!"
3. "Sue Ellen, the only thing you've learned is that vodka doesn't smell on your breath."
4. "What's a family for if it can't take care of its losers?"
5. "Sue Ellen, you're a drunk, a tramp and an unfit mother."
6. "Nobody beats ol' J.R."
7. "Lucy, why don't you have that junior plastic surgeon you married design you a new face - without a mouth!"
8. "You should go to sleep Sue Ellen - you know how haggard you look when you don't get your full eight hours?"
9. "I wouldn't give you the dust off my car!"
10. "Go to bed Sue Ellen, there's nothing uglier than a woman who can't handle her liquor!"
