;D I am becoming notorious for my newly adopted zest for collecting rum ! ;D My British partners just arrived for our 4-day colloquy in Prague, and being gentlemen/women of fine breed, they brought over a bottle of Havana Club 3 years aged rum for me, ROFLMAO. ;D ;D ;D Quite honestly, MARY we start having a good basis for a jamaican pub ! mellon.topcities.com/SubDirectory/smilies/hehe.gif[/img] Meaning, we have to do something about it ! Alternatively, as I said earlier, people you must come over and help me with the content, LOL. For the time being my collection consists of (in chronological order of acquisition): - Cpt. Morgan White Label
- Appleton Estate 18 years aged rum
- Mount Gey Premium White Rum
- Bacardi Rum 8 Anos Reserva Superior
- Havana Club anejo 3 anos
Small / mini - bottles - Bacardi White
- Malibu Rum Coconut
And I am slightly afraid ... this is not the end. ;D But fret thee not, only 2 bottles are opened and but couple of centilitres evaporated so far.

And here is some poetry for ya ! The Convicts Rum Song
Cut yer name across me backbone Stretch me skin across a drum Iron me up to Pinchgut Island From today till Kingdon Come!
I will eat yer Norfolk dumplings Like a juicy spanish plum Even dance the Newgate Hornpipe If ye'll only give me Rum!

1776: The New Broadway Cast Recording Molasses To RumRutledge: Molasses to rum to slaves, oh what a beautiful waltz You dance with us, we dance with you Molasses and rum and slaves Who sails the ships out of Boston Ladened with bibles and rum? Who drinks a toast to the Ivory Coast? Hail Africa, the slavers have come New England with bibles and rum And its off with the rum and the bibles Take on the slaves, clink, clink Hail and farewell to the smell Of the African coast Molasses to rum to slaves 'Tisn't morals, 'tis money that saves Shall we dance to the sound of the profitable pound In molasses and rum and slaves Who sails the ships out of Guinea Ladened with bibles and slaves? 'Tis Boston can coast to the West Indies coast Jamaica, we brung what ye craves Antigua, Barbados, we brung bibles and slaves! Molasses to rum to slaves Who sail the ships back to Boston Ladened with gold, see it gleam Whose fortunes are made in the triangle trade Hail slavery, the New England dream! Mr. Adams, I give you a toast: Hail Boston! Hail Charleston! Who stinketh the most? ;D ;D ;D

The Rum Runner's Song (Original Version) By Jack Fleetwood
Hey! Down on the dock boys the schooner pulls in, Her holds are all ready for whiskey and gin; Hey! Come all you strong men with shoulders of steel And dance in a line to The Barley Corn Reel.
Chorus: For some there's a fortune but others will die, Come load up the ship, boys, the Yankees are dry.
Hey! What's in the cases stacked tier upon tier? Why, rye and scotch whiskey and gin but no beer; And where is it bound for? Why, Washington State, Where the tipplers' throats parch, so they hardly can wait.
There are thousands of bottles of U.D.L.'s best The rye that's the cheapest and Choice of the West; There's Dewar's and Haig's and Sandy McNish, To tickle the palate or lure a lush dish.
So it's up with the anchor and let us away, With our load of good whiskey from Cowichan Bay, And it's out to the Gulf and south to the Sound, And watch for the Revenue Boats coming round.
We meet the small gas-boats in the gloom of the night, Unloading the cases we hope there's no fight, With Revenue Men who will dart from the Isles, Or lure the unwary with cunning and wiles.
Then drink to the Volstead, oh, long may it last, And drink to the small boats, oh, may they be fast, To outrun the Coast Guards and land the good liquor, At beaches where signal is just a lamp's flicker.
We're paid off in greenbacks, good Federal notes, Then we knock off a bottle to slack our parched throats, This time we've been lucky and landed our load, Maybe next time in Davey Jones's Locker be stowed.

This realm of mine is so abandoned .... yet I have NOT been entirely lazy when it comes to RUM ;D Well, the list is still a very modest one ... here is my update : - Cpt. Morgan White Label
- Appleton Estate 18 years aged rum
- Mount Gey Premium White Rum
- Bacardi Rum 8 Anos Reserva Superior
- Havana Club anejo 3 anos
- Havana Club anejo 7 anos NEW ;D
Small / mini - bottles - Bacardi White
- Malibu Rum Coconut
;D HOWEVER, I made a couple of discoveries and progresses in/to the World of Rum I need to share with you : ;D 1) On the NET I found a small Czech retailers company, that actually does offer a nice selection of Carribbean rums : KRATOCHVILOVCI / Spirits importer ;D Now, since my Appleton Estate was almost emptied over the New Year by my fellow-pub-goers (see below for Roztoky's "shelter") I have ordered another bottle which shall be delivered next week. 2) The Kratochvilovci site is affiliated to another web, which is the Alcohol Bar in Downtown Prague .... by mere coincidence currently widely promoted by Radio Beat. Now I decided to stop by two days ago, and for the first time (not the last time though, LOL) .... The place is just amazing. First of all, after a small conversation they rightly guessed I am the one who actually ordered a bottle of rum via their web site (they phoned me to make sure I was serious about my online order, and our small chat then ended with their : "We are looking forward to our cooperation" LMAO) ;D Then I was provided with a small book size drinks menu : out of 100 pages, 7 were rum straight. ;D So I had another chat with the bar owner, and we decided that I shall start my research with : - Classic Rum Monymusk Jamaica 21 y.o.
- El Dorado 15 y.o.
Remark: I actually like the 15 years El Dorado better. The other option for that evening was - Matusalem 15 y.o. Gran Reserva
But that one I tasted when in Uppsala in November. Of course, the research will continue in the future ... they have currently about 50 rum brands, out of which only few I know in person. ;D Btw. I spent there over two hours basically discussing ths rum brands, tastes, flavours, minor differences ... Don't take me wrong, I had some 4 cl in total, LMAO ... and later some coffee ... My pub-fellow-goers (in Roztoky ... it is a small pub "shelter" where I usually stop in the morning for coffee and chat with the pub owner, lol) would kill me for that ... those 4 cl in total would easily pay for their 16 glasses of vodka. ;D I guess, I need to get a life ! ;D ;D Visual taste of the Alcohol Bar :

- Flor de Caña - 7 years old / Grand Reserve
The producer has a fairly nice site right here (click the image to enter) Their sugar-mills are said to be right under this volcano:
