Here we go again. @ ole good menzman: still the same camera, I guess we finally got used to each other ! Anyway, the gig was on Monday / April 2 and I just started my new job in consultancy in the area of human resources mis/management (while retaining bits of the original one  ) ... too much was too much, thus at 6 pm I left the office for No Mercy fest, half asleep in fact. This time, save for Dew Scented and Napalm Death, remaining bands were new to me (or rather I may have heard some stuff on Hard 'n Heavy / Radio Beat Sunday evening broadcasting), which means, do not expect any kind of setlist this time. Just shots and overall impression. I missed the first band ROOT by several songs ... they were followed by Dew Scented (excellent as always, only that I was still half asleep though up on my feet, leaning against the stage desperately in need of some coffee  ... ) .... Suffocation .... Behemoth - definitely want to see these guys again ! ... Napalm Death ... riot as always, I cannot say how many times my shoulders were kicked or stepped on by hosts of stage divers  .... Moonspell ... now these guys were also fine suprise to me ... melodic and violent at the same time. So my to-do-list is : check Behemoth and Moonspell for albums. And now the shots

UPDATE: Upon a feedback elsewhere I realized I should be adding more info / links to the bands' sites actually. And also, I have bought two Moonspell' albums straight after the concert: The Antidote and Butterfly Effect , Now I know that several of the songs they played at No Mercy were from these two albums, and I also understand better my "neighbour'" comments when she mentioned that she did not expect them to be this "wild" ... their ("canned") music is almost "serene" at parts, dynamic at others, hypnotic ... almost constantly. It keeps all these qualities when played live but it is the live performance that will make you dance ... I was also struck by the sound of Pedro Paixao' guitar ... live the sound was much sharper and quite distinct ... and the songs to remember ? Selfabuse ... I am the eternal spactator ... Antidote ... And btw, for those who dont know, these guys are from Portugal. www.moonspell.com/www.myspace.com/moonspellBehemoth are from Poland (black/death metal)... they have several albums out, and my task is to get at least some of them ... many of them have excellent reviews. btw. www.myspace.com/behemothofficialwww.behemoth.pl/Dew-Scented (Germany / Thrash) ... they have a new album out, Incinerate and I must admit I do enjoy the bonus disk with covers such as War Ensemble , Metal Militia and Fuck Armageddon...This Is Hell ... great stuff !! Pity they did not play any of these at NM. www.myspace.com/dewscentedwww.dew-scented.net/Suffocation ... Death metal from NYC. It was my first time hearing them, so the only recommendation I can give at this moment is : go and check out their myspace ! www.myspace.com/suffocationwww.suffocation.us/No need to introduce Napalm Death I guess, so here are just their sites: www.myspace.com/napalmdeathwww.napalmdeath.org/And finally Czech metal Root (death / dark metal)... their history goes back to 1987 or so and just by checking their history it is apparent that, as is the case of very many Czech bands, they went through hell lot of changes and chaos throughout their history  ... rootan.net/Just re-pasted this from my myspace ... ... I am becoming lazy !
