I hope this makes sense... ;D
Over the past few weeks, the Proboards system has been identifying people who posted messages at certain dates and times, but those people never posted the messages and the messages do not appear anywhere on the board. Last week, I noticed that the board identified Paulo as having posted at 3:30am his time, but there was no message to be found. Of course, Paulo was fast asleep at that time so he did not post.
I let Jana know about this because we feared that hackers were logging in as others on the site... but that was not the case. Super-sleuth Jana figured out a techno glitch with the Proboards system.
This is the glitch. I'll give an example:
If "Barbarella" posts a message at 11:30am on February 29, 2003 in "People's Pics" in "Cafe at Blessed Realm" and then she changes her mind and deletes her post, the board system will identify the last person who posted in that thread and section. So if "Buddy" was the last person to post a message (any time before 11:30am on February 29, 2003), his name will then appear in the "Last Post" column next to "People's Pics" and it will identify him as having posted on February 29, 2003 at 11:30am. Wait, it gets more complicated... It looks like the system also identifies the second-to-last person who posted in the whole "Cafe" section and then that name appears in the "Last Post" column next to "Cafe" (main page) with the date/time of the last deletion (eg. February 29, 2003 at 11:30am).
So if you see your name in the "Last Post" column and you did not post on that day and time, do not worry!
And even if this makes no sense to you whatsoever, please don't worry either. Just rest assured that no one else is using your account.
Of course, if at any time you suspect any suspicious activity with your account, please let Jana know immediately.
