to my boyfriend Love Is Only A Feeling
by DARKNESS (Permission To Land)
The first flush of youth was upon you when our eyes first met And I knew that to you and into your life I had to get I felt light-headed at the touch of this stranger's hand An assault my defences systematically failed to withstand
'Cos you came at a time When the pursuit of one true love in which to fall Was the be all and end all
Love is only a feeling (Drifting away) When I'm in your arms I start believing (It's here to stay) But love is only a feeling Anyway
The state of elation that this unison of hearts achieved I had seen, I had touched, I had tasted and I truly believed
That the light of my life Would tear a hole right through each cloud that scudded by Just to beam on you and I
Love is only a feeling (Drifting away) When I'm in your arms I start believing (It's here to stay) But love is only a feeling Anyway, anyway
Love is only a feeling (Drifting away) And we've got to stop ourselves believing (It's here to stay) 'Cos love is only a feeling Anyway

I am going to Glenn Hughes concert tonight ... so here is, just a little reminder, one of my GH favourite songs! Looovely!
Holy Man (Coverdale/Hughes/Lord)
Called to Madonna To give me a line She said boy what have you done Passing your time with a holy man Talking about the moon and sun But I can't tell the difference Between the fool and wise Show me a river to follow Away from all these lies
I've been on my own so long Won't you lend me your hand I've been picking up my bones too long Won't you understand
Called to the captain To put me ashore For it looked like no man's land Is this the way to follow I cried as I shook his hand He told me had no answer He didn't really hold the key I am a simple man Was all he said to me
I've been on my own so long Won't you lend me a hand I've been out in the cold too long Won't you understand I've been on the road so long Won't you lend me your hand I've been out in the cold too long Won't you understand
Heard my mother crying She was calling out my name Whisper in the dark night Saying who's to blame The hour glass keeps turning With not enought sand to see I am a holy man So don't you bother me
I've been on my own so long Won't you lend me your hand I've been pickin' up my bones too long Won't you understand I've been on my own so long Won't you lend me your hand I've been out in the cold too long Won't you understand?

This song is dedicated to Willow. It is one of many Glenn played last night. And was brilliant!!! BLACK SABBATH(Glenn Hughes)
Seventh Star
There's a vision in the sands Rising from the ancient past Crying let my spirit go Lead my burning soul to rest
Hear the sound of distant ages It's the call of the seventh star
There's no shelter from the heat There's no mercy from this land Hear a thousand chanting souls Waiting judgement from God's hand
Hear the sound of distant ages It's the call of the seventh star Hear the sound of fallen angels It's the call of the seventh star
The pyramids will fall Turn to dust before the sun And the star will rise again Until destiny is done
Hear the sound of distant ages It's the call of the seventh star Hear the sound of fallen angels It's the call of the seventh star
Glenn Hughes's gig yesterday was better than I could ever imagine. I am not familiar with all his songs. To tell the truth, I went there just out of curiousity, because I LOVEd him in Deep Purple and wanted to see him because of that. I have only one of his albums, but to be honest I've become Glenn Hughes nut after last night gig and will be buying more of his CDs in the near future! He sounds FANTASTIC!!! The Highs and Lows, the power and the full body of his voice (it is still ringing in my ears), he is sooo full of energy - he was the man of the stage! ... well last but not least - HE IS IN A GREAT SHAPE - looks great and you would hardly tell that he is fiftysomething. Just like David Coverdale - they are both sooo fit ... OOO-ER. Like I said, I am not very familiar with all his songs, so I can't give you the set list here. Just few that I recognised - Seventh Star (from his Black Sabbath years - perfect), killer version of Mistreated (oooh, I will never forget that song hughesLIVE...), one of my all time purrrple favourites You Keep On Moving (again, superb version) and ... how could he miss out Burn!!! BRILLIANT!!! He also played a tribute song to Tommy Bolin - (another purple one) Getting Tighter ;D. He has a new CD out and played few tracks of that album as well, and believe me, they sounded pretty good too. Well, I am amazed, because I wasn't expecting the gig to be that good. And with my purple songs dreams coming true, it was an unforgettable night. If you get a chance and he is playing near you, GO AND SEE HIM!!! He is just sooo worth it! :-*D P.S.:Willow, I am not rubbing your nose in it. I am just trying to draw a true picture of Glenn Hughes genius. But like I said on BBS, nothing I say will/can do him any justice. I hope you get to see him LIVE soon as well. He is going on the WORLD tour next year (i think that it will be with Joe Lynn Turner ... mabye we could talk DC into teaming up with them at some point in their tour).

Dagmar, you lucky creature! Glenn Hughes is one of my all-time favorite singers, and i have been so deprived of his live appearances in the States that it's downbright depressing. He also did some songs in Gary Moore back in '85-'86 that I adore....and they are still classics (though much less known). Get the Gary Moore CD "Run For Cover" and you'll see what I mean. Great stuff. Ciao.
