Thanks, Mellon! I can see you were and still is a "working lady" for rock'n'roll causes. I loved these DC pics, he seems like a "lost little dog" that smart girls wants to hold! And Plant looks great too!

Re-posted from What are you listening to at the moment ...
Art Bears ... Hopes and Fears.
Now this ancient CD I discovered when browsing Borders CD shop in London with Paulo ...
I would expect anything to find there but Art Bears ... I told Paulo the story so I will now retell it here. ;D
I know the band personally since they were frequent visitors to Prague for underground concerts and Prague Jazz Days which our organization, the Jazz Section, organized in the 1970s and early 1980s (already as an underhroung activity).
Then in August 1980 I had the privilege ;D to use their house at Wandsworth Rd, South London, the then seat of Chris Cutler's indie label Recommended Records as a shelter wnen to the UK for the first time. ;D
Now the RR have an online shop right here : www.rermegacorp.com/ ... it looks like Chris moved with Maggie Thomas (indie sound engineer, and a fine lady) to France or something.
And this is the band as I knew them in the late 70s / early 80s :
(Cutler, Frith, Krause).
And here are the boys now : ;D
Chris Cutler:
www.ccutler.com/Images/ccstandardFlare.jpg[/img] Superior drummer, btw. ! Fred FrithWhen digging deep into memory, the other band from the neighbourhood I liked were This Heat ... I met them both in Prague and in London in 1980, as well as their kind of offspring, Camberwell Now ... though the last time I had chance to meet anyone of them was Stephen Rickard when in Oxford for a trimester back in 1993. Their discographies are here : www.squidco.com/rer/Hayward.Charles.htmlFunny, I just remembered a chilly night in Prague when we were unable to go on with the planned This Heat concert (due to a police raid, that is, lol) and ended up in a basement of someone's house drinking tea and wine and who knows, perhaps also a rum, lol ... then we were walking early in the morning freezingly cold Old Town and Charles Bridge to see the boys to the place they then stayed (friend's appartment] ... I know I was dead tired after that night for I was one of two of Czech people who actually spoke English and thus ended up translating for the rest of our gang as well as for the band. ;D ... s**t I was young then ! It was I think early in 1980 before my trip to the UK. ;D ;D ;D And now I just discovered that they have a record label online right here ! www.theserecords.com/I must order some of their stuff !!!! LOL, this really must go into my memorabilia page. ;D
