I would like to say may he Rest in Peace and be free from illness and anything else that plagued him the last several years of his life.
I stayed up til 1 am this morning watching and waiting with the people in St Peters Square in Rome, outside his Vatican Apartments, watching the lights in his apartments for any news. Heartened by what the reports told us, he's awake, he's lucid, he's ready to greet God. I woke to watch some more reports telling of his condition and of the reports from the Vatican and felt saddened at his passing this evening in Rome. I cried hearing stories from people.
We will long remember Pope John Paul II, may he rest in peace.

Melissa, Thank you for posting it here ! I have managed but to watch the last days news on the Internet since I am working very late hours and thus not following the TV news and stuff.
His death is seen as a great loss in Central Europe - he was the only Slavonic Pope in the history so far ... and perhaps one of the most "visible" - speaking of modern history.
May he rest in peace ... for sure he will be long remembered !
