Prague, T-Mobile Arena 29/06/2005
The yestarnight concert was OK ... I mean, the t-mobile arena was really packed / entirely sold-out, mostly obviously with BS hard die fans .... but there were by far more Soulfly people than last time when they played Prague as support for Judas Priest, and in general Soulfly this time got much warmer welcome / feedback than last time ... so: so far so good.
It was actually nice to see their red tour-buses (the same they used for Germany) in front of the T-Mobile arena ... it really felt like being at home again, LOL.
I got my ticket to the restricted area under the stage, which was actually nice for you could see better (but not during the VR and BS gigs for the "trees of hands" as it were) and most importantly - you could move relatively free for drinks, toilets and stuff ... this comfort I did appreciate especially during Velvet Revolver (you can tell, I do love stars ;D ) ... I didnt take my camera for I expected thorough search : wrong, similarly to Hammersmith couple of weeks ago, no one gave a fuck about what you were bringing in ... quite untypical for t-mobile arena ... but then, objectively I wouldnt be able to get better pics than from Trinec - due to lame light, plus at least my hands were free.
You know, Czech audience is actually funny : alhtough Soulfly got warmer welcome, in my large "neighbourhood" we were some 5 people altogether dancing / jumping whatever (forget the word mosh pit over here !!!!! ... even headbanging is kinda inappropriate word ... waving yes, but is about it LMAO ) ... the rest just stood there with facial expression you would most likely wear while queuing at an tax office when the annual taxes are due. ;D Quite pathetic !!!!!
The setlist was very much similar to Trinec (no new stuff) plus shorter - so for instance no drum jam.
It was more or less this (if I come across detailed setlist I will correct it) :
Prophecy
Downstroy
Seek'n'Strike
Spit
Bleed / Tree Of Pain (with Ritchie)
Roots Bloody Roots
Defeat U ?
Umbabarauma
Execution Style
Sum Of Your Achievements
Back To The Primitive
Head Up / Innerself
Eye For An Eye
The sound was actually very good : Black Sabbath brought those huge PA walls and these were used by support bands too .... so in this regard, Soulfly got much better treatment than when with Judas Priest.
Btw. I heard lot of Polish around ...

Velvet Revolver ... well, I would rather skip this part. It was my first time I saw / heard them ... and I will be quite happy if it remains so.
It is true that there was lots of "We are the best motherfucking rock n roll band in the world" .... "best motherfuckers" ... and shit like that. Yet the thing is that these were just one-sided statements ... and since there were no mothers present to provide us with their view on the matter ... I just buggered off for a peaceful piss and coffee.
Dont ask me about the setlist ... I have no clue and as a matter of fact, I cannot care less ! ;D

BLACK SABBATH: now this is a sad part ... I mean they were good and loud, but I somewhat got bored. I would really appreciate seeing them when I was actually really following them ... some 25 - 29 years ago. But now I didnt see a point. But it was my first time seeing them live so what ... I left well before the whole thing was over because I didnt really enjoy it, it was hot in there, and it apperaded to me a good idea to go home before midnight and pack for With Full Force festival in Leipzig for which I am leaving tonight.
The setlist seem pretty much the same they play everywhere on the tour :
NIB
After Forever
War Pigs
Dirty Women
Fairies Wear Boots
Symptom of the Universe / Sweet Leaf / Electric Funeral
Iron Man
Into the Void
Black Sabbath
The Wizard
Sabbath Bloody Sabbath / Paranoid
Children of the Grave
Btw. if anyone is interested, the tour reviews plus setlists and potentially also photos are available on their site : www.black-sabbath.com/revise.html
