I finally got to see this film and it is truly beautiful piece. The setting, the action, the martial arts ... actors, costumes ... plot, director, camera, crystal clear sound ... it has it all and brilliantly put together to create a pure beauty. I think that it won't come out as good on the DVD though ... seeing it on a big screen in a cinema was breathtaking. HERO : Story Background
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HERO is based on events in China during the 3rd century BC.
From 475 – 221 BC, the land was divided into seven major Kingdoms: Qin, Zhao, Han Wei, Yan, Chu and Qi. Named ‘The Warring States Period’ because of the power struggle between the Kingdoms, this was a time of endless brutal wars and much hardship and suffering.
The King of Qin (Qinshihuang)was most ruthless and ambitious of all. Historically chronicled as a brutal tyrant, the Qinshihuang was determined to conquer and control all of the states. Throughout history, there have been stories of how assassins from all over China plotted to kill Qinshihuang. HERO is one of these stories.

The IncredibesGreat movie! Saw it twice! It's a very cute and funny movie. ;D AlfieI really liked this. I didn't see the original with Michael Caine but I thought Jude Law was terrific in it. He plays a philandering limo driver who uses his charms to get what he wants. I thought the depiction of his character was fascinating. The cinematography is really good. I really liked the recurring visual theme throughout the movie. There was always a big sign somewhere, with specific words in big lettering... If you missed that the first time., go back and look for the signs and try to interpret how the words relate to the scene. The score is excellent...a lot of Mick Jagger though but it's good. The songs were a collaboration of Mick Jagger and Dave Stewart. The end credits are really original. You see black and white snapshots of the people who worked behind the scenes. It's really well done. Bridget Jones: The Edge of ReasonA great sequel. The movie focuses a lot more on Bridget. Renee Zellweiger is perfect in this role. Lots of funny moments! A really fun movie to watch! Hugh Grant is delightfully evil. ;D

The Spongebob Squarepants Movie[/b][/size] I dreaded taking my son to see this movie but I actually ended up enjoying it. I think the writers were definitely "on something" but it was hilarious!! And Jana, there's even some Motorhead in there. I mean, I could swear I heard Lemmy singing and sure enough, Motorhead is on this movie's soundtrack. They have a song called "You Better Swim". ;D I won't spoil the ending but let me just say... ROCK N ROLL SAVES THE DAY! ;D Here's the CD and you can listen to a sample too: www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00064AEL0/qid=1104547799/sr=2-2/ref=pd_ka_b_2_2/002-4743615-5965604
