I Worry by Ali Torrelli
I worry about her about the five hundred miles about the roadblocks in between about the corner we're turning
I worry about me about being realistic about being fair to her about being her friend first
I worry about us about having the resolve about having the fire about having the strength
Then I hear her voice
worries fade miles dissolve hearts sing hopes rise

Great idea Paulo! I love poetry! I expect I shall be in here a lot... This one is a little long, so please bear with me. It is worth it.
LA BELLE DAME SANS MERCI - John Keats
Ah what can ail thee, Knight at arms, Alone and palely loitering? The sedge has withered from the Lake And no birds sing!
O what can ail thee, Knight at arms, So haggard, and so woebegone? The squirrel's granary is full And the harvest's done.
I see a lily on thy brow With anguish moist and fever dew, And on thy cheeks a fading rose Fast withereth too.
"I met a Lady on the Meads, Full beautiful, a faery's child, Her hair was long, her foot was light And her eyes were wild.
"I made a Garland for her head, And bracelets too, and fragrant Zone; She looked at me as she did love And made sweet moan.
"I set her on my pacing steed And nothing else saw all day long, For sidelong she would bend and sing A faery's song.
"She found me roots of relish sweet, And honey wild, and manna dew, And sure in language strange she said 'I love thee true.'
"She took me to her elfin grot And there she wept and sighed full sore, And there I shut her wild wild eyes With kisses four.
"And there she lulled me asleep, And there I dreamed, Ah Woe betide! The latest dream I ever dreamt On the cold hillside.
"I saw pale Kings, and Princes too, Pale warriors, death-pale were they all, They cried 'La belle dame sans merci Hath thee in thrall!'
"I saw their starved lips in the gloam With horrid warning gaped wide, And I awoke, and found me here On the cold hill's side.
"And this is why I solourn here, Alone and palely loitering; Though the sedge is withered from the Lake And no birds sing."

She Was a Phantom of Delight William Woodsworth (1770-1850)
She was a phantom of delight When first she gleamed upon my sight; A lovely Apparition, sent To be a moment's ornament; Her eyes as stars of Twilight fair; Like Twilight's, too, her dusky hair; But all things else about her drawn From May-time and the cheerful Dawn; A dancing Shape, and Image gay, To haunt, to startle, and way-lay.
I saw her upon a nearer view, A Spirit, yet a Woman too! Her household motions light and free, And steps of virgin liberty; A countenance in which we did meet Sweet records, promises as sweet; A Creature not too bright nor good For human nature's daily food; For transient sorrows, simple wiles, Praise, blame, love, kisses, tears and smiles.
And now I see with eye serene The very pulse of the machine; A Being breathing thoughtful breath, A Traveler between life and death; The reason firm, the temperate will, Endurance, forsight, strength, and skill; A perfect Woman, nobly planned, To warm, to comfort, anc command; And yet a Spirit still, and bright, With something of angelic light.

"Monologue of Isabel Watching It Rain in Macondo" by Gabriel Garcia MarquezIt's not a poem but a short story. I love Marquez' use of figurative language which is pervasive in his writing. Examples of magnificent figurative language from this short story are: "…the water tightened and hurt, like a shroud over the heart…..eyes lost in the labyrinth of the rain…. earth spins on its rusty unoiled axis……jasmine bush faithful to the memory of my mother……rain grew like an immense tree over the other trees……a voice that tasted of prostrated resignation…I felt my heart turn into a frozen stone." Not a poem, but a song! I love the words to this Aerosmith song....
"I Don't Want To Miss A Thing"
I could stay awake just to hear you breathing Watch you smile while you are sleeping While you're far away and dreaming I could spend my life in this sweet surrender I could stay lost in this moment forever Well, every moment spent with you Is a moment I treasure I don't wanna close my eyes I don't wanna fall asleep 'Cause I'd miss you, baby And I don't wanna miss a thing 'Cause even when I dream of you The sweetest dream would never do I'd still miss you, baby And I don't wanna miss a thing Lying close to you Feeling your heart beating And I'm wondering what you're dreaming Wondering if it's me you're seeing Then I kiss your eyes and thank God we're together And I just wanna stay with you In this moment forever, forever and ever I don't wanna close my eyes I don't wanna fall asleep 'Cause I'd miss you, baby And I don't wanna miss a thing 'Cause even when I dream of you The sweetest dream would never do I'd still miss you, baby And I don't wanna miss a thing I don't wanna miss one smile I don't wanna miss one kiss Well, I just wanna be with you Right here with you, just like this I just wanna hold you close Feel your heart so close to mine And just stay here in this moment For all the rest of time Don't wanna close my eyes Don't wanna fall asleep 'Cause I'd miss you, baby And I don't wanna miss a thing 'Cause even when I dream of you The sweetest dream would never do 'Cause I'd still miss you, baby And I don't wanna miss a thing I don't wanna close my eyes I don't wanna fall asleep 'Cause I'd miss you, baby And I don't wanna miss a thing 'Cause even when I dream of you The sweetest dream would never do I'd still miss you, baby And I don't wanna miss a thing Don't wanna close my eyes Don't wanna fall asleep, yeah I don't wanna miss a thing I don't wanna miss a thing
