My favourite author is Chilean-born Isabel Allende. I love all her writings but my favourite book of all-time is "The House of the Spirits". Hey Pina!! Have you read Paula or The Infinite Plan? ?... from my point of view they are really good books, maybe sad but they are hopefull too... I'm looking for my fave writter... and is difficult for me because every book that I've read had had something interesting to 'learn'... anyway... now, I'm reading Karamazov Brothers (is in Spanish) Fedor Dostoiewski is the author... maybe Lovehunter could give his opinion about it lol!... Hey Pina!! Have you read Paula or The Infinite Plan? ?... from my point of view they are really good books, maybe sad but they are hopefull too.. Mariana, Apart from La casa de los espiritus, I have read De amor y de sombra and Eva Luna in Spanish. I read The Infinite Plan in English because I was not able to find it in Spanish. I prefer to read Isabel's work in the original language (like Gabriel Garcia Marquez's works). I have not read Paula yet. (I think it's a book about her daughter.) Your post has reminded me that I should start looking for that book. I found it in English but I want it in Spanish. Do you like Julio Cortazar's work?

But I am reading Little Prince by A.S. Ex.(don't know how to spell his name) - i missed out on it when i was little. I think that adults appreciate this book more though ... or am I just a big kid liking this book. Antoine de Saint-Exupéry I read that book ages ago. It's a wonderful story! I should read it again.

Pina,
Yes Paula is the book about her daughter... and I'm shamed about Cortazar because I've never read about him before you said his name here so, I looked some info on internet and I read a little bit of La vuelta al día en ochenta mundos I liked it so much and I loved that one called "Hay que ser realmente idiota para..." in that way I'm an idiot ;D

Mariana,
May I suggest Cortazar's short story ""Las babas del diablo"? The famous film Blow Up was based on that story. The film is a classic and it was directed by Michelangelo Antonioni.
